How are the brass beads made?
Each brass bead is hand-made using the traditional lost wax process. This process begins with each bead being shaped out of beeswax into the desired shape. It is then covered with charcoal powder and clay to create the outer mold. Once the mold has dried, it is heated to melt and remove the wax and then it is replaced with the molten brass. When it cools, the clay is broken off revealing the brass bead, which is then filed, removing any rough edges and polished with lemon juice and fine sand.
